David Field is an Honorary Associate Professor of Law at Bond University, where he taught evidence law for over 14 years. He specialised in Supreme Court commercial causes and legal aid criminal cases during his career in practice. He was also the Solicitor for Prosecutions for Queensland.
Dan Howard is a Senior Counsel at the NSW Bar. He is a former President of the NSW Mental Health Review Tribunal and a former Acting Judge of the District Court of NSW. He was for many years a Crown Prosecutor and appeared in many criminal trials and appeals, including numerous cases involving mental health issues. He has extensive experience in teaching criminal trial advocacy. He is currently a Visiting Professorial Fellow with the School of Law at the University of Wollongong, and a Conjoint Associate Professor in the School of Psychiatry at the University of NSW.
The Honourable Dean Mildren AM RFD QC was a Judge of the Supreme Court of the Northern Territory. He was appointed to the Court on 27 June 1991, and retired February 2013. He is sworn in as an Acting Judge of the Court, so from time to time still adjudicates on cases in the Northern Territory. He was admitted to the Supreme Court of South Australia in 1968 and to the Northern Territory in 1970. He practised as a barrister and solicitor in Adelaide from 1968 to 1971, and in Darwin from 1972 to 1980. He was appointed QC in 1983 and awarded AM in 2013. He has also been a part time lecturer at NT University and Charles Darwin University and an Adjuct Professor of Law from 1997 to 2002.
