The Sarawak Land Code is a unique piece of legislation. Sarawak is a land of multi-indigenous and rich customary culture. It is only natural for the Sarawak Land Code to reflect the complexity of the land's culture in order to protect the rights of landowners in Sarawak. Known as Chapter 81 (1958 Edition), the Sarawak Land Code was released in January 1958 and have gone through multiple amendments. The last official version from the government printers was released in 1999; and from the Sarawak Attorney General's Chambers in 2003. From those dates onwards, there has been no official up-to-date version of the Code that has been released. This book on Sarawak Land Code has been compiled and updated by LexisNexis Legal Editors and it contains up-to-date amendments to the Sarawak Land Code. Although this is not the official version of the Code, a great deal of care and attention have been put into ensuring that this work is representative and is as close as possible to the state of the law as of 10 June 2014.
