Datuk Dr. Prasad Abraham graduated with an LLB (Hons) degree from the University of Nottingham in 1974. In 1975, he was
called to the English Bar, and admitted to the Honourable Society of Middle Temple. In 1976, he was called to the Malaysian
Bar. He started his own practice in 1980, under the name of Messrs. Abraham & Partners and later called Messrs. Prasad
Abraham & Associates, which dealt mainly in commercial and civil litigation. In addition to practice, Datuk Dr. Prasad was also
a part time lecturer at the UiTM School of Law, involved in conducting the CLP examinations, and a Special Professor to the
Department of Law University of Nottingham (UK). In 2008, he was conferred an Honorary Degree of Doctor of Laws honoris
causa by the University of Nottingham.
Datuk Dr. Prasad Abraham completed 32 years of active practice at the Bar before being elevated to the bench of the High
Court in 2011. He was appointed as Judicial Commissioner of the High Court in 2009, with the Civil Division of the High Court
of Kuala Lumpur. Subsequently, he was elevated to the Court of Appeal in September, 2014 and thereafter to the Federal
Court in January, 2017. Datuk Dr. Prasad retired on the 10th of January, 2018. He was appointed as a member of the Royal
Tribunal investigating the alleged misconduct of former election commissioners. He is now actively involved in arbitration and
consultancy, and has also been invited by Bursa Saham Malaysia to sit on its appeals committee as one of its members.
