In each of the areas, the provisions of the Copyright Act 1987 are clearly examined and explained by reference to local case law, where available, and where local cases are lacking, by reference to case law from other jurisdictions. This fourth edition provides an up-to-date analytical commentary of legislative and judicial developments in Malaysian copyright law. In particular, the changes brought about by the Copyright (Amendment) Act 2012 are discussed in detail and, at the same time, judicial decisions expounding on the provisions of the Copyright Act 1987 since the publication of the previous edition are analysed. In some parts, this entailed re-evaluation of existing commentaries and consequent revision to the relevant parts. As a result of the impact of modern computing technology on copyright law, this fourth edition incorporates a separate chapter on Copyright and the Internet, particularly since the jurisprudence in this area of the law is at a fledgling state in this country.
