This book provides for the current legal position of family law for non-Muslims in Malaysia. This essentially concerns situations before marriage, during marriage, after divorce and issues pertaining to children. This publication also incorporates discussion on the amendments to Law Reform (Marriage & Divorce Act) 1976, amendments to Domestic Violence Act 1994 and recent decided cases concerning family law in Malaysia. Nur Ezan Rahmat (PhD) is currently the Deputy Dean of Research and Industrial Linkages at the Faculty of Law, UiTM. She is a certified mediator with Asia Pacific Mediation Forum (APMF). She has received many research grants from national and international institutions. She won the gold and silver medals in many innovation competitions.
Daleleer Kaur Randawar (PhD) is a senior lecturer at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM). Prior to this she was a legal practitioner practicing law dealing with family matters, probate and banking. She supervises postgraduate students in the areas of child marriage and consumer law and has presented her research work at national as well as international conferences and has authored and co-authored several articles in various journals.
Akbar Kamarudin @ Abdul Shukor (PhD) is a senior lecturer at the Faculty of Law, UiTM. He graduated with LL.B (Hons), Master of Comparative Laws (MCL), and Ph.D from the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). With more than 15 years of experience with UiTM, his main area of writing and research expertise is on Civil and Islamic Family Laws.
