Employment Law in Malaysia: Practice, Compliance & Disputes

Aisyah is a Partner in LHAG’s Employment & Industrial Relations Practice Group. She holds an LLM from University College London and is called to both the English and Malaysian Bars. Aisyah represents employers in industrial and civil disputes, focusing on unfair dismissal, performance management, M&A transfers, and retrenchment. As a leader of the firm’s ESG Practice Group, she also advises on workplace safety, discrimination, and ESG compliance.

Shariff is a Partner in LHAG’s Employment & Industrial Relations Practice Group. An IIUM graduate admitted to the High Court of Malaya in 2009, he advises a diverse portfolio of MNCs and GLCs on industrial relations, employment law, and civil claims. His expertise includes managing sexual harassment complaints, MACC corruption investigations, and whistleblower protection. Shariff also contributes to local university research and lectures on industrial relations.

Arissa graduated from Queen’s University Belfast and was called to the bar of England & Wales in 2017. She was admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 2018 and commenced practice in Civil Litigation before venturing into Employment Law & Industrial Relations. She currently specialises in Cybersecurity, Data Privacy, Employment Law & Industrial Relations wherein she actively advises and represents clients from various industries. Arissa has been recently acknowledged as a Recommended Lawyer by The Legal 500 Asia Pacific 2025 for Labour and Employment.
