James Ottavio Castagnera is a Member and the Chief Consultant of Holland Media Services LLC, a communications and training company with offices in Philadelphia and Los Angeles; a Member of Portum Group International LLC, a cyber security & data privacy consulting firm; Of Counsel to Washington International Business Counsel; and an Adjunct Professor of Law at Drexel University.

James Goepel has a broad range of legal, technical, and business expertise. Jim is the General Counsel and Director of Education and Content for FutureFeed. He is also co-founder and a former Board Treasurer of the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification Accreditation Body (“CMMC-AB”). The CMMC Information Institute is a non-profit organization helping small businesses to better understand and meet their cybersecurity and data privacy obligations. Jim is also a CMMC Provisional Instructor and candidate CMMC Provisional Assessor, and the author and instructor for the original CMMC-AB Registered Practitioner program. Jim is a sought-after speaker on a wide range of topics, including law, compliance, cybersecurity, and risk management. Jim is also a professor of cybersecurity at Drexel University, where he teaches undergraduate and graduate-level courses that the university hired him to create. Jim’s research into the application of Enterprise Risk Management techniques to the field of cyber and privacy governance was published by the National University of Singapore in their National Law Journal.

Jim earned a BSECE from Drexel University and J.D. and L.L.M. degrees from the George Mason University School of Law. He has spent most of his professional career working in the cybersecurity field. Jim has worked for and counseled a variety of organizations, from various portions of the United States government, including the U.S. House of Representatives and United States Coast Guard; to government contractors, including Unisys Corporation and The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory; to start-up technology and consulting companies. When he isn’t working, teaching, or volunteering with the Institute, Jim can be found swimming, kayaking, and fishing with his family. Jim thanks his family for their support in making this book a reality.

Jared Paul Miller is an attorney with the New Jersey law firm of Powell, Kugelman & Postell. Jared is a published author, co-authoring Data Privacy Law: Risks and Mitigation for LexisNexis and Defensibility: Changing the Way Organizations Approach Cybersecurity and Data Privacy in the 2021 special issue of the Singapore Academy of Law Journal. Jared holds a J.D. from Drexel University Thomas R. Kline School of Law with a concentration in Intellectual Property law and a B.A. from Juniata College with a program of emphasis in Technology Policy and a secondary emphasis in Chinese Studies. He studied abroad at East China Normal University as a part of their Global China Program. Jared is a New Jersey attorney, an International Association of Privacy Professionals Certified Information Privacy Technologist, and an IAPP Certified Information Privacy Professional/United States. He also is a partner in Portum Group International, LLC.

Paul Flanagan has had a long and distinguished career as a privacy and compliance officer beginning in 1995. He served as a high-ranking compliance & privacy officer for 21st Century Oncology, Hahnemann University Hospital, and Drexel University. He leads Drexel’s Kline School of Law Program for Privacy, Cybersecurity, and Compliance. He is certified by the International Association of Privacy Professionals in Information Privacy Management.

Bridget Kathleen Mead is an attorney with the Philadelphia firm of Marshall Dennehey Warner Coleman & Goggin, PC. She is a graduate of the Kline School of Law at Drexel University. She is a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US) under the auspices of the International Association of Privacy Professionals and a published author on data privacy.
