Dr Mimi Zou is Associate Professor (Reader) in Law at the University of Reading and co-founder of the Oxford Deep Tech Dispute Resolution Lab. Prior to her current post, Dr Zou held the first academic appointment in Chinese law at the University of Oxford. She has been Edwards Fellow at Columbia Law School, Assistant Professor at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and Senior Researcher at Utrecht University. She has also been a visiting scholar at Tsinghua, Renmin, Peking, CUPL, SWUPL and other leading Chinese law schools. Dr Zou obtained her DPhil in Law and Bachelor of Civil Law (Distinction) degrees from St John’s College and Christ Church, University of Oxford. She has been called to the Bar of England and Wales and qualified as a lawyer in New South Wales (Australia). For over 17 years, Dr Zou has worked in academia, global law firms, international organizations, civil service, and financial institutions in Asia-Pacific and Europe.
