Wilson on Children & Property and Civil Participation

Jeffery Wilson, B.A., LL.B., was the original author of Wilson on Children and the Law, a LexisNexis publication since 1978, and a work that has staked a legitimate place for children and contemporary law within and outside of Canada.

The primary source for the work contained in the Halsbury’s Education, Infants and Children and Youth Justice titles is from Wilson on Children and Law.

Farrah Hudani, J.D., LL.M., is the new senior editor of the leading publication on children and their interests, Wilson on Children and the Law, and is the chapter editor of the Hague Convention section of the book. She is the founding partner of Burrison Hudani Doris, LLP. Farrah’s practice encompasses all areas of family law, including complex property and support claims and custody and access disputes. She has significant experience in jurisdictional issues, Hague Convention cases and mobility disputes. Farrah has argued leading reported cases in these areas and lectured at conferences in Canada and the United States. She has experience arguing cases at all levels of court, including the Ontario Court of Justice, the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the Ontario Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Canada. Most recently, she argued in the Supreme Court of Canada on the issue of the availability of the writ of habeas corpus for children. Farrah is a member of the Ontario bar and the American bar. She also has an LL.M. in Family Law from Osgoode Hall Law School.

Katherine Long is a contributing editor to the publication Wilson on Children and the Law and serves on the executive committee for the Toronto branch of the Women’s Legal Education and Action Fund. Prior to joining Tammy Law, she worked at a small Bay Street firm, practicing exclusively in family law. She completed articles at the Office of the Children’s Lawyer and have previously worked and volunteered with organizations including Legal Aid Ontario, the Barbra Schlifer Commemorative Clinic, and SickKids Hospital.
