The Honourable Roger E. Salhany was admitted to the Law Society of Upper Canada in 1964. He received his Bachelor of Laws Degree from Osgoode Hall Law School and he thereafter received a Graduate Diploma in Comparative Legal Studies from the University of Cambridge. Justice Salhany is retired from the Ontario Court of Justice (General Division). Prior to being appointed to the bench in 1978, he practised law as a litigator for 15 years. A prolific legal author, Justice Salhany has written extensively in the areas of criminal procedure, evidence and advocacy. Justice Salhany acted as the Commissioner in the Taman Inquiry held in Manitoba in 2008. Justice Salhany's legal writing is extensive and has been relied upon by the Supreme Court of Canada.
