Sheila Nemet-Brown, B.A. (Hons.), LL.B., is a Senior Content Development Associate for LexisNexis Canada. She obtained her law degree from Osgoode Hall Law School. She is the author of the Public Utilities and Legislatures titles in Halsbury’s Laws of Canada, and has served as contributing editor for numerous other Halsbury’s titles. She also developed and edited the Canada Criminal Sentencing Digest and the Canada Quantum Digest series. She is the original co-author, with the late Clayton Ruby, of Sentencing Ranges for Criminal Offences.

Trevor Knight, B.A. (Hons.), LL.B., LL.M., is currently General Counsel at Elections Canada. He obtained his Bachelor of Laws from the University of Toronto in 1999, and his Master of Laws from Harvard University in 2001, where he wrote his thesis on comparative conceptions of democracy used by courts in Canada, the United States and Australia in reviewing election laws. He has written articles on the relationship between election law and the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. Mr. Knight has been a lawyer at Elections Canada since 2002 and in this capacity has advised on six general elections and two redistributions of electoral boundaries. He has also advised on various litigation matters involving the Chief Electoral Officer, including Opitz v. Wrzesnewskyj, [2012] S.C.J. No. 55, Callaghan v. Canada (Chief Electoral Officer), [2011] F.C.J. No. 199, and Re Canada Elections Act, [2011] O.J. No. 2782.

Farrah Hudani, J.D., LL.M., is the new senior editor of the leading publication on children and their interests, Wilson on Children and the Law, and is the chapter editor of the Hague Convention section of the book. She is the founding partner of Burrison Hudani Doris, LLP. Farrah’s practice encompasses all areas of family law, including complex property and support claims and custody and access disputes. She has significant experience in jurisdictional issues, Hague Convention cases and mobility disputes. Farrah has argued leading reported cases in these areas and lectured at conferences in Canada and the United States. She has experience arguing cases at all levels of court, including the Ontario Court of Justice, the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the Ontario Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Canada. Most recently, she argued in the Supreme Court of Canada on the issue of the availability of the writ of habeas corpus for children. Farrah is a member of the Ontario bar and the American bar. She also has an LL.M. in Family Law from Osgoode Hall Law School.
