Greg Kanargelidis, B.Comm., LL.B., LL.M., ICD.D, has more than 34 years of experience practising in the areas of international trade, customs and commodity tax law. He opened his own law practice after a rewarding career at Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP, based in Toronto, Ontario, the last 26 years as a partner and head of the firm’s International Trade and Investment Group. Greg is recognized as one of the leading international trade and customs lawyers in Canada and the world. Greg has extensive experience representing Canadian and foreign clients with respect to cross-border trade and investment issues. He advises clients on multilateral and bilateral free trade agreements, bilateral investment agreements, economic sanctions, export and import controls, and government procurement disputes. Greg has substantial experience in, and regularly assists clients with, trade remedy matters. Greg is a noted expert in all areas of customs law, and also assists clients with respect to planning, compliance, and appeals involving federal and provincial commodity taxes.

Brenda C. Swick, B.Sc. (Hons. Econ.), LL.B., leads the International Trade Group at Cassels Brock & Blackwell LLP. One of Canada’s leading practitioners in international trade and investment law, Brenda’s practice focuses on customs and tariffs, economic sanctions, export, import and technology transfer controls, defence trade controls, blocking measures, national security measures, antidumping, countervail and safeguard measures.  Her practice also includes forced labour compliance, as well as anti-money laundering and anti-corruption enforcement and compliance. The Government of Canada appointed Brenda as an arbitrator under Chapter 31 of the Canada-United States-Mexico Agreement.

Bruce Feldthusen, B.A., LL.B., LL.M., S.J.D., recently retired as a professor of law at the University of Ottawa. He has been teaching and writing about tort law for almost 50 years, primarily in Canada, but also in the United States and Australia. He was a professor of law at the University of Western Ontario from 1977 to 1999 and served as Dean of the Common Law Section of the University of Ottawa from 2000 to 2013. Feldthusen’s analysis of pure economic loss has often been adopted by the Supreme Court of Canada and provided the original organizing framework for all negligence actions in that field. He was one of the first legal academics to study civil remedies for victims of sexual assault. Feldthusen was the research director for the Ontario Law Reform Commission’s 1989 study on Exemplary Damages, which has been cited with approval and adopted in many common law jurisdictions in Canada and abroad. He has also practised law and worked frequently as a litigation consultant on issues in tort law prior to his retirement.

Heather MacIvor, B.A., M.A., M.Sc., Ph.D., J.D., is a freelance writer and legal researcher based in Toronto. Before retiring from LexisNexis Canada in 2023, she worked on numerous Halsbury’s Laws of Canada titles, including Civil Procedure, Administrative Law, both Constitutional Law titles and Judges and Courts. Heather holds degrees from Dalhousie University, Queen’s University and the London School of Economics, and was an Associate Professor of Political Science before obtaining a law degree.
