Edward (Ned) Levitt is a partner at Gowling Lafleur Henderson LLP where he practises franchise, licensing and distribution law. Mr. Levitt has over 30 years experience practising franchise law, and is currently General Counsel to the Canadian Franchise Association. Kevin McGuinness joined the Crown Law Office Civil of the Ministry of the Attorney General of Ontario in January 2004. Until November 2001, he held the Steele Raymond Chair in Business Law at Bournemouth University, a position he took up following 12 years of corporate-commercial legal practice in Ontario and previous teaching stints in Canada and Australia. Before coming to CLOC, he served as corporate counsel with the City of Hamilton, where his practice focused on corporate-commercial law issues. Catherine A. Pawluch is a partner at Gowling Lafleur Henderson LLP and leads the Transportation National Practice Group. She specializes in Transportation and Competition (Antitrust) Law. Ms. Pawluch is recognized as a top transportation lawyer in the Lexpert Guide to the Top 100 Industry Specialists in Canada and in its Guide to the Leading 500 Lawyers in Canada. She was also designated as one of the most frequently recommended transportation lawyers in the country in the Lexpert Canadian Legal Directory.

Edward N. Levitt is a Senior Partner at Gowling Lafleur Henderson LLP and an acknowledged expert on franchise law in Canada. He has served as both Chairman of the legal and legislative committee and Special Counsel to the Canadian Franchise Association. He now acts as General Counsel to the Association. Mr. Levitt was involved in the drafting of the Ontario Regulations for Ontario's recently passed franchising legislation, the Arthur Wishart Act (Franchise Disclosure), 2000. He is a member of the Ontario Government Franchise Sector Working Team. A prolific writer and frequent lecturer in the areas of franchising, licensing and distribution matters, Mr. Levitt is also the author of the Distribution of Goods and Services title in LexisNexis' CF&P Commercial Transactions module.

Kevin P. McGuinness, LL.B., LL.M., S.J.D., spent more than 35 years in the practice of corporate/commercial law until he retired in 2016 from the Crown Law Office of the Ontario Ministry of the Attorney General. His principal areas of practice included corporate commercial law and debtor-creditor remedies. He has taught law in Canada, England and Australia and worked in various legal capacities in both provincial and municipal government, private practice and as in-house counsel to major corporations. He is the author or co-author of many legal texts, including Canadian Business Corporations Law, 4th Edition (with Maurice Coombs); The Encyclopedic Dictionary of Canadian Law; The Law of Guarantee, 4th Edition; Canadian Civil Procedure Law, 2nd Edition (with Associate Justice Lunda Abrams); and numerous Halsbury's Laws of Canada titles.
