Washington Law of Wills and Intestate Succession

Mark Reutlinger is Professor of Law Emeritus at Seattle University School of Law, where he taught Trusts & Estates as well as Torts and Evidence from 1978 until 2004. He received his A.B. (and the University Gold Medal for Scholarship) and J.D. from the University of California at Berkeley. He practiced law both with the San Francisco firm of Morrison & Foerster and as a sole practitioner. He has also taught at Hastings College of the Law, the University of British Columbia, the University of San Francisco, and Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand.

Professor Reutlinger was a member of the Probate Law Task Force that was responsible for substantial changes in the Washington probate code in the 1980's and 1990's. He is a life member of the American Law Institute. Professor Reutlinger's other publications in law include Wills, Trusts, and Estates: Essential Terms and Concepts (2d ed. 1997) and Evidence: Essential Terms and Concepts (1996), both published by Aspen, and numerous other books and law review articles. He was an editor-in-chief of the Washington Estate Planning Deskbook (Wash. State Bar Assoc. 2005) and the Washington Probate Deskbook (Wash. State Bar Assoc. 2005). He is now a novelist, writing cozy mysteries and thrillers.
