Punitive Damages

Linda L. Schlueter is a former Professor of Law at St. Mary's University School of Law and a member of the D.C. Bar. With Professor Kenneth Redden she wrote five annual supplements to the first edition of Punitive Damages and is also editor of Community Property Alert. She is co-author of two editions of Legal Research Guide (1986 and 1990), a text widely used in law schools and by the practicing bar.

Professor Schlueter is a member of the American Bar Association Section of Tort and Insurance Law Practice and the Section for International Law. She currently serves as the president of the Trinity Legal Center, a nonprofit, public-interest litigation and legislation support center that seeks to change the legal landscape through litigation to achieve a culture of life, to assist legislatures by providing scientific research on women's reproductive health issues, and to change public opinion concerning abortion through education and personal testimony.

Linda served in various capacities with The Justice Foundation (TJF) from 1998-2007, including Vice President of Legal Affairs, senior staff attorney, and brief writer. She authored the only amides brief of 50 filed in the partial-birth case (Gonzales v. Carhart) that was cited by the United States Supreme Court in its ruling in 2007.

She received her B.A. degree from the University of Southern California in 1969 and her J.D. degree from Baylor University School of Law in 1971. She is a member of the Order of Barristers for her outstanding advocacy skills.

Linda is recognized in the United States in various Marquis; Who's Who including: Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the World, Who's Who of American Women, Who's Who in Finance and Industry, Who's Who in the South and Southwest, Who's Who in American Law, and Who's Who of Emerging Leaders. In addition, she is recognized internationally in the World's Who's Who of Women, International Who's Who of Intellectuals, and the Dictionary of International Biography. She has received numerous awards, including the 1991-92 IBCs International Woman of the Year and IBCs the Twentieth Century Award for Achievement.
