Louise Truax (Chapter 3, Dissolution of Marriage and Legal Separation, Chapter 7, Child Support, and Chapter 17, Enforcement of Orders) is the General Editor for LexisNexis Practice Guide: Connecticut Family Law. She is a partner in Lax & Truax. She is a fellow in the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and past chair of the Connecticut Bar Association Family Law Section. She is the Editor-in-Chief of the Connecticut Family Lawyer. She has written several articles and lectured extensively in Connecticut and throughout the United States. She is included in the Best Lawyers in America, and is recognized as a Super Lawyer as one of the top 25 Women Lawyers in Connecticut and one of the top 50 Women Lawyers in New England.

Barbara Aaron (Chapter 14, Alternative Dispute Resolution) is a partner in the law firm of Berman, Bourns, Aaron & Dembo. Her practice is exclusively in the field of matrimonial law with an emphasis on mediation and collaborative law. She is a co-founder, past president, and current board member of The Connecticut Counsel for Non-Adversarial Divorce. She is the former chairperson of the Connecticut Bar Association Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee. She has been named a Super Lawyer in New England and Connecticut Magazine.

Livia Barndollar (Chapter 5, Alimony) is the past president of the Connecticut Bar Association and past chair of the Family Law Section. She is the senior topical editor of the Connecticut Bar Journal. She serves on the Board of Editors for The Family Advocate. She has written several articles and lectured throughout the State of Connecticut. She is recognized as a Super Lawyer in Connecticut and New England.

Campbell Barrett (Chapter 12, Agreements) is a partner in the law firm of Budlong and Barrett and focuses his practice primarily on matrimonial and appellate matters. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and was the 2005 recipient of the Judge Maxwell Heiman Memorial Award by the Hartford County Bar Association. He is the co-author of Same-Sex Marriage: The Legal and Psychological Evolution in America, which in 2006 was awarded the American Psychological Association's (Division 14) "Most Distinguished Book in Lesbian, Gay and Bisexual Psychology." He is a graduate of American University's Washington College of Law in Washington, D.C. and of Trinity College in Hartford.

Carlo Forzani (Chapter 6, Property Division) is a fellow and past president of the Connecticut Chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. He is past chair of the Connecticut Bar Association Family Law Section. He has been listed in every edition of Best Lawyers in America since 1994, is listed in Martindale-Hubbell's Bar Registry of Preeminent Lawyers, and is recognized as a Super Lawyer by Connecticut Magazine and New York Magazine.

Leslie Jennings-Lax (Chapter 1, Marriage, and Chapter 13, Same-Sex Dissolution Issues; co-author, Chapter 9, Adoption, Chapter 10, Paternity, and Chapter 11, Surrogacy and Gestational Agreements) is on the Board of Editors of the Connecticut Bar Journal and the Connecticut Family Lawyer. She is an adjunct professor at Quinnipiac University School of Law. She has written several articles and has presented on various family law topics through the Connecticut and American Bar Associations.

Sandra Lax (Chapter 9, Adoption, Chapter 10, Paternity, and Chapter 11, Surrogacy and Gestational Agreements) is a partner at Lax & Truax. She is a fellow in the American Academy of Matrimonial lawyers and the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. She is an adjunct professor at Quinnipiac University School of Law, teaching Advanced Family Law and Family Law Trial Practice. She is recognized as a Super Lawyer Connecticut Magazine and in New England.

John Morris (Chapter 15, Counsel Fees) has been a general practice trial lawyer, principally involved with all aspects of family law litigation, for 24 years. He is a member of the Connecticut Bar Association Professional Discipline Committee. He is a contributing author to the Law Practice Handbooks publication of Family Law & Practice in Connecticut. He is a volunteer judge for the Quinnipiac School of Law Moot Court.

Daniel Roberts (Chapter 4, Pretrial Pleadings and Discovery) is a partner in Lax & Truax. He is a member of the Connecticut Bar Association Family Law Section Executive Committee. He served as Vice-Chair of the American Bar Association Young Lawyers Division Family Section from 2010 - 2011. He serves as an Associate Editor for the Connecticut Family Lawyer. He is recognized as a Super Lawyer Rising Star in Connecticut and New England.

Samuel V. Schoonmaker IV (Chapter 16, Appellate Procedure) has practiced law since 1994 and founded the Schoonmaker Legal Group in Stamford. He graduated from Yale (B.A.), Cambridge (M.Phil.) and Columbia (J.D.). He created the e-publications Appellate Preview and Family Law Alert. He developed an online multimedia legal education program known as Case Flash. He served as co-chair of the Continuing Legal Education Committee for the ABA Family Law Section, and as its financial officer. He is on the board of editors of the ABA's Family Law Quarterly and the CBA's Connecticut Family Lawyer. He served on the faculty of the CBA's Appellate Advocacy Institute.

Carolyn Swiggart (Chapter 2, Jurisdiction, and Chapter 18, Divorce Taxation) practices matrimonial law in Greenwich, Connecticut. She has been a member of the Executive Committee of the Connecticut Bar Association Family Law Section since 2001, and was a member of the Board of Editors of the Connecticut Bar Association's Basic Practice Manual (1986-1994). She received the Baccalaureat International de Geneve from the Lycee International de St. Germain-en-Laye, France, and graduated with honors form Wellesley College. She obtained her law degree from the University of Connecticut and is admitted to practice in Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts.

Robert Zaslow (Chapter 8, Custody and Visitation) is a founding partner in the firm Zaslow & Sandler, LLC. He serves as a Special Master for the Hartford and New Britain Family Courts, the Hartford Early Intervention Program, and the Regional Family Trial Docket in Middletown. He is a member of the Connecticut Bar Association, Family Law Section Executive Committee, and of the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts.
