Iowa Criminal Law and Procedure with Forms

Originally from Plymouth, N.C., the Hon. Romonda D. Belcher is a District Associate Judge in the Fifth Judicial District of Iowa. Appointed in August 2010, she is the first African American female judge in the State of Iowa. She has served with distinction and has been recognized for her commitment to servant leadership in the pursuit of justice by the bench, bar, and her community. Her trailblazing accomplishments were recognized on the floor of the 116th United States Congress. Prior to her appointment, she served a 15-year tenure as an Assistant Polk County Attorney. Judge Belcher received her undergraduate degree from Howard University, cum laude, and her juris doctorate from Drake University Law School. As an adjunct professor at her alma mater, she has taught Children and the Law and Trial Advocacy. Influencing the legacy of future legal practitioners, she inspires others with her mantra, “Know your purpose, follow your passion and live your dream.”
