Hogan and Weber California Civil Discovery

Gregory S. Weber is Professor of Law at the McGeorge School of Law at the University of the Pacific, where he has taught courses in Administrative Law, Civil Procedure, Environmental Law, the Law of Toxics and Hazardous Substances, and Natural Resources Law. The author of numerous books and articles on a variety of topics, Professor Weber earned his J.D. magna cum laude from the University of California's Hastings College of the Law, where he ranked in the top one percent of his class and was admitted into the Order of the Coif. He received his B.A. from Williams College (magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa). In 1993, Professor Weber testified on proposals to streamline the California Environmental Quality Act before Joint Hearings of the California Legislature. Prior to entering academia, Professor Weber was Senior Attorney, California Court of Appeal, Third District.

James E. Hogan is the principal drafter of the California Civil Discovery Act of 1986, having served as Reporter for the California Civil Discovery Commission. He has been Professor of Law at the University of California Davis since 1967, teaching courses in Civil Procedure, Evidence, Products Liability, Criminal Law, Trial Practice, and Remedies. In 1980, Professor Hogan became the initial recipient of the law school's Distinguished Teaching Award, and in 1994 he was one of four professors on the Davis Campus to receive a Citation for Distinguished Teaching from the Academic Senate. During his tenure at U C Davis, Professor Hogan has taught at five other law schools: McGeorge, Loyola-Marymount, the University of San Diego, Hastings College of Law, Southwestern University School of Law, and the University of Illinois. Professor Hogan received his J.D. from Georgetown University. He received his undergraduate degree from Loyola of Chicago.
