Jonathan M. Joseph (Managing Editor) is a partner at the Richmond, Virginia law firm of Christian & Barton, L.L.P., where he serves as the leader of the health care practice group. He focuses his practice on health care transactions and managed care. He also advises clients on Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) compliance and investigations, telemedicine, and electronic health record and data breach issues. He has significant experience with Medicare and Virginia Medicaid managed care organization provider contracting, reimbursement, and audit and appeal issues and Certificate of Public Need matters.

Jon is a member of the Virginia Bar Association Health Law Section Council, a past chair of the Health Law Section, and past chair of the Board of Governors of a Virginia nonprofit nursing and assisted living facility. He is a former adjunct professor of health law for the Master of Health Administration program at Virginia Commonwealth University and the author of the AHLA publication Data Breach Notification Laws: A Fifty State Survey, Second Edition. Jon also frequently lectures for national bar and health care organizations.

Jon earned degrees from Boston University School of Law and Middlebury College. He volunteers as a member of the board of a Virginia nonprofit continuing care system.

Carol L. Eoannou (Managing Editor) spent most of career working in legal publishing, first for a subsidiary of The Bureau of National Affairs, Inc. (BNA), then for BNA itself, and ultimately for its successor, Bloomberg Law, now known as Bloomberg Industry Group. Although she is best known professionally for her publications on electronically stored information and e-discovery, she ultimately became Editorial Director for Litigation and Health at Bloomberg. During that tenure, Carol began her association with the American Health Law Association, working with the organization on several joint publications and participating in various AHLA programs. She currently works as a freelance editor for projects on health care, privacy, and electronic discovery.
