The Companies (Amendment) Bill, read the first time on 28 February 2017, comprises massive changes to the law governing business entities. These amendments were implemented on 31 March. Companies Act — Compendium of Changes 2017 aims to take lay business persons, corporates and in-house counsels through the updates via a visually comparative Compendium, as well as provide expert practitioner comments as a form of guidance for navigating the new landscape. There has been a number of changes to the Companies Act in 2016 and 2017. This book aims to assist readers in making the transition by mapping the amendments in a visually comparative Compendium. The Practitioner's Notes provide a practitioner's perspective on the advantages and disadvantages of the amendments and how they might have an impact on the day-to-day business of companies and various corporate transactions.
