According to Gartner’s 2014 Magic Quadrant for E-discovery Software, the global E-discovery market will jump from $1.7 billion in 2013 to $2.9 billion by 2017. In addition, most of this growth will take place in international markets outside the traditional US market. There is still much to be learnt from the US experiences in E-discovery, both in techniques and best practices. As Asia’s rapid digitisation gathers pace, the volume of evidence and the familiarity of the legal system with technology will demand that E-discovery be implemented to manage this process to aid the administration of justice.
