AHLA publishes a rich array of materials in the subject area of health law, and its offerings are held in high regard by all who know and use this content. Health law practice tools make up a significant part of this content, and many of the authors and speakers who participate in AHLA events and projects include forms, sample policies, contract templates, checklists, and charts with their papers and book chapters. AHLA's Guide to Health Care Legal Forms, Agreements, and Policies Third Edition is, first and foremost, a three-volume compilation of these resources, derived from materials submitted to AHLA. This publication is therefore not the undertaking of a single individual but of scores of highly qualified health care attorneys who have generously shared their real-time, practical experience with colleagues. The content in this resource comes from the very community that it is designed to serve, and therein lies its value.
In this April 2022 Supplement to The Third Edition, AHLA has expanded its reach in collecting practice tools, by reviewing and selecting sample forms and policies from outside sources, including professional associations, health care providers, and legal experts. These organizations have graciously allowed us to reprint their materials in the Guide, enriching its content and offering more comprehensive coverage of all aspects of health law.
Along with the Third Edition, the Guide's April 2022 Revision is designed to provide health care professionals with an array of downloadable sample tools to assist them in developing the specific contracts, forms, and policies that they need to serve their clients. In using this resource, it is important to keep in mind that the information is presented as a roadmap to address legal issues, but that editing, additional research, citation checking, and terminology adaptation will always be necessary to tailor a document to a specific client or setting.
