Product details

This pamphlet addresses numerous style amendments to the Federal Rules of Evidence that are scheduled to take effect on December 1, 2011. Style changes are illustrated with side-by-side comparison.

The style amendments clarify and simplify the language of the Evidence Rules, and the amendments are not intended to change substantive meaning. However, there are significant changes. Subdivisions in some rules have been rearranged to achieve greater clarity and simplicity. Material in the rules deemed outdated or repetitious has been deleted, and rule text has been revised to improve consistency from rule to rule and modernize word usage.

As an exclusive feature, the pamphlet includes introductory commentary by Daniel J. Capra, Philip D. Reed Professor of Law at Fordham University School of Law and Reporter to the Judicial Conference Advisory Committee on the Federal Rules of Evidence.
