James T. Gray is a 1986 graduate of Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and a 1990 graduate of Marquette University Law School in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He formerly served as assistant director of the National Sports Law Institute at Marquette University Law School. Presently, he is an assistant professor at Ithaca College’s Department of Sport Management and Media, as well as an adjunct professor of law at Anglia Ruskin University in Chelmsford, England. He is co-author of the two-volume textbook Sports Law Practice, second edition, and The Stadium Game, first edition. Further, Gray is a partner at the Milwaukee based law firm, Pierski & Gray, LLP, where he has served either as a consultant or has represented professional sports leagues, professional and amateur athletes, and youth sports programs in issues ranging from drug testing, sport based risk management, labor contracts and negotiations, as well as sport television and sports facilities agreements.
