Joseph Shade is a Retired Attorney and Professor of Law at Texas Wesleyan School of Law in Fort Worth, Texas. He is admitted to the Bars of Texas, Illinois and the U.S. Supreme Court.

Ronnie Blackwell is co-author of Primer on the Texas Law of Oil and Gas (5th Edition) published by LexisNexis. He is senior counsel with XTO Energy Inc., and also teaches Texas Oil and Gas Law as an adjunct professor at Texas Wesleyan University School of Law. From 2004-2007, he worked as an associate in the oil and gas section of Harris, Finley & Bogle, P.C. He graduated from Texas Wesleyan University School of Law in 2004, cum laude, where he served as an Articles Editor on the Law Review. He is Board Certified in Texas oil, gas and mineral law, and has been recognized multiple times as one of the top attorneys in Fort Worth by Fort Worth Magazine, recognized as one of Fort Worth's top 40 professionals under 40 years of age by the Fort Worth Business Press, awarded the Distinguished Alumni Award form Texas Wesleyan University School of Law, and multiple awards and honors during his service in the United States Navy.
