Personal Injury Practice in North Carolina

Adrienne Blocker (Law Offices of Adrienne Blocker, PLLC) began the practice of law after having traveled almost around the world with her husband as he pursued his career in the United States Air Force. She has lived in places as diverse as Guam and North Dakota. Adrienne and her family settled in North Carolina in 1993, and most recently relocated to Durham in 2011. Adrienne focuses her practice primarily in the area of serious personal injury (to include automobile collisions, motorcycle wrecks, trucking collisions, bicycle accidents, and premises liability).

Adrienne received her J.D. from Campbell University and also attended the prestigious Trial Lawyers College presented by Gerry Spence in Wyoming. Adrienne maintains a number of professional memberships such as the North Carolina Advocates for Justice, The Guilford Inn of Court, the North Carolina Bar Associations, and the Southern Trial Lawyers Association. She is the recipient of the Ebbie Award and numerous Orders of Service for her dedication to the profession.

Adrienne is also very involved with the Carolina Center for Civic Education, which presents an annual High School Mock Trial Competition, a state-wide educational program that provides an opportunity for students to learn about the legal system from legal professionals. Adrienne is proud to have served on the Steering Committee when CCCE hosted the National High School Mock Trial Competition in Raleigh in May 2015.

Michelle B. Clifton (Grace, Tisdale & Clifton, P.A.) received her Juris Doctorate from Wake Forest University School of Law in 1995 and her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Elon University in 1992, graduating summa cum laude.

She began her legal career practicing in the areas of corporate mergers and acquisitions and insurance defense litigation. Since 2004 her practice has been focused on the representation of plaintiffs in personal injury, wrongful death, and medical malpractice cases. She also represents clients in administrative and regulatory matters, as well as various other civil and criminal matters in both state and federal court. Michelle brings all of these experiences and over twenty (20) years of practice to her work as a certified Superior Court Mediator.

Michelle is a member of the North Carolina State Bar, the North Carolina Bar Association, and the Forsyth County Bar Association. She is also a member of the North Carolina Advocates for Justice and a former Co-Chair of the Auto Torts CLE Committee. Michelle is the immediate past Vice-Chair of the Board of Trustees of Forsyth Country Day School and currently serves on the SECU Family House Board. She has previous Board of Directors service with the YMCA of Greater Winston-Salem, the Junior League of Winston-Salem, the Sawtooth Center for Visual Arts, St. Paul’s Episcopal Preschool and the Friends of the Ronald McDonald House.
