Patent Appeals: The Elements of Effective Advocacy in the Federal Circuit

Mark Davies is a partner in the Washington D.C. Office of the global law firm White & Case. Mark is ranked in Chambers for Intellectual Property: Appellate and Nationwide Appellate Law. He has argued more than 50 appellate cases, including multiple arguments for one of the world's leading high-technology companies. Mark was the first appellate attorney to focus on AI litigation. He has represented the owner of the AI system in the leading AI case on inventorship, Thaler v. Vidal; argued a high-profile appeal for a leading global company concerning machine learning; and is counsel of record in the first AI copyright matter, Ross v. Thomson Reuters. Mark was listed twice in Lawdragon 100 Leading AI & Legal Tech Advisors, 2024 & 2005. He is also an active speaker on AI to the appellate judiciary and is on the Faculty at the National Judicial College.
