Mia L. Garcia, Partner: Mia represents operators, ancillary businesses, and policymakers navigating regulations and transacting in the cannabis industry. She leverages her industry knowledge and contract management experience in the biotechnology sector to shape regulatory strategies, provide pragmatic advice, identify legal risks, and implement effective compliance procedures. She counsels on the full spectrum of cannabis legal issues including strategic legislative guidance, license and real estate acquisition and sale, operational compliance, administrative appeals and enforcement actions, dispute resolution, zoning and municipal law, and mergers and acquisitions. Mia dedicates her contributions to this publication and the commitment of her career in the cannabis industry to her late father, who demonstrated firsthand the transformative impact of medical marijuana as he faced terminal cancer.

Thomas G. Haren, Partner: Tom is a leading attorney across Ohio and the national cannabis industry, representing licensed operators and ancillary service providers. He advises cannabis clients, often as outside general counsel, on licensing, corporate transactions, litigation, regulatory compliance, and strategic operations. Tom has led some of the largest mergers and acquisitions in Ohio’s cannabis market, representing both sellers and acquiring entities.
