Modern Federal Jury Instructions

John S. Siffert is a partner at Lankler Siffert & Wohl in New York City, where he practices civil and criminal litigation. He is an adjunct professor at New York University School of Law. Mr. Siffert is also on the faculty of the National Institute of Trial Advocacy and has taught in the trial advocacy programs at Harvard Law School, Hofstra Law School and Cardozo Law School. Since 1992, Mr. Siffert has served as a court appointed mediator and subsequently on the Mediation Panel for the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. He has lectured on various topics concerning jury instructions and white collar crime. Mr. Siffert is a former Assistant United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York, where he served both in the civil and criminal divisions from 1974 through 1979. Mr. Siffert previously served as a law clerk to Hon. Murray I. Gurfein, then United States District Judge. Mr. Siffert is a graduate of Amherst College and Columbia Law School.
