Brian Steel has been practicing criminal law since 1991. Prior to opening his own practice, he served as an Assistant Public Defender at the Fulton County Public Defender’s Office. Throughout the years, he has built a national criminal defense practice based on exhaustive and thorough preparation, creative and novel tactics in motions and appellate practice, and zealous courtroom showdowns. He has over 140 published opinions and numerous published appellate court victories and reversals of convictions to his credit in the Court of Appeals and Supreme Court of Georgia.

Donald F. Samuel is a partner at the law firm of Garland, Samuel & Loeb, P.C. He has lectured frequently for the Georgia CLE and the Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and has appeared on CNN to provide analysis and commentary of pending criminal cases. Mr. Samuel is the author of Federal Criminal Trials, as well as Georgia Criminal Law Casefinder and the Eleventh Circuit Criminal Handbook. He has also written several articles on criminal law and procedure for the Georgia Bar Journal and the Mercer Law Review. He is former Chairman of the Amicus Committee for the Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and served as President in 1995. Mr. Samuel received his B.A. from Oberlin College and his J.D. from the University of Georgia Law School.
