Ms. Abrams graduated cum laude from the University of Miami Law School, began her practice in 1971 and has specialized in family law since 1976, practicing in South Florida. She has been Board Certified by the Florida Supreme Court as a matrimonial lawyer from 1986 through 2002, is a certified Mediator in family law and a certified Matrimonial Arbitrator. She is a fellow of the Florida chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Attorneys and has served in that organization on the Board of Managers and as chair of the Amicus Committee. She is a member of the American Law Institute. Brenda Abrams has been listed in Best Lawyers in America from 1987 through the present.

Brenda Abrams has lectured extensively in the area of Family Law, including seminars and symposiums on behalf of the Family Law Section of The Florida Bar, the Heckerling Institute on Estate Planning and Taxation, the Institute presented by the Florida chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Attorneys, the Circuit Judges' Conference and on the Internet. All seminars and symposiums were Florida Bar approved and provided continuing legal education credit.

Ms. Abrams is Past Chair of the Family Law Section of The Florida Bar, and has served as Vice Chair, Secretary/Treasurer and Executive Council member. She has been an adjunct professor at the University of Miami School of Law for more than 10 years and at Nova Law School, teaching courses on Family Law Litigation and Collection of Judgments.

Brenda Abrams is Independent Counsel to Hodgson Russ LLP, a national law firm, and practices family law and mediation in South Florida.
