Ethics of Representing Organizations: Legal Fictions for Clients

LAWRENCE J. FOX is Senior Research Scholar at Yale Law School and a partner at Schoeman Updike Kaufman & Gerber LLP in New York City, where he practices in the areas of professional responsibility and corporate governance. He is a former chairman of the ABA Section of Litigation and Standing Committee on Ethics and Professional Responsibility and Supervising Lawyer of the Ethics Bureau at Yale (EBaY), a pro bono clinic providing ethics advice, counseling and support to those unable to afford such services.

Susan J. Martyn is the Stoepler Professor of Law and Values at the University of Toledo College of Law, where she teaches Legal Ethics, Bioethics & Law, and Health Care Provider Liability; she too has published extensively on the issue of legal ethics.
