Criminal Trial Error and Misconduct

Bennett L. Gershman spent nearly 10 years as a prosecutor in the New York State Anti-Corruption Unit, the Bronx Anti-Corruption Unit, as a special assistant to the Attorney General and as an Assistant District Attorney in New York County. During his tenure he prosecuted to jury verdict corruption indictments against a New York Supreme Court Judge, a New York Tax Commissioner, and several high ranking police officials. He is presently a tenured Professor of Law at Pace University School of Law, where he teaches courses in constitutional law, criminal law, criminal procedure, evidence, and trial advocacy. He received the New York State Bar Association, Criminal Justice Section Award for Outstanding Work in the Field of Criminal Law Education. Professor Gershman is the author of Prosecutorial Misconduct as well as numerous law review articles and book reviews. He is called upon as an expert in courtroom ethics by news media, educational organizations, and criminal trial courts around the country. He also lectures extensively to judges and lawyers. Professor Gershman received his J.D. from the New York University School of Law and his B.A., cum laude, from Princeton University.
