Victor E. Schwartz is a nationally recognized expert on liability law. He received his law degree magna cum laude from Columbia University where he was an editor of the law review. He began his career as a law clerk to a federal judge and is now senior partner and heads the Torts and Insurance Practice Group at the law firm of Crowell & Moring in Washington, D.C. A former professor of law at the University of Cincinnati, he maintains a liaison with the University as an adjunct professor of law.

Mr. Schwartz served in government as Director of the Federal Interagency Task Force on Product Liability. He chaired the Federal government's Interagency Council on Accident Compensation and Insurance. This Task Force coordinated insurance and liability policy issues within the Federal government. He serves on the Advisory Committees to the new Third Restatement of the Law of Torts: Products Liability and Restatement of the Law of Torts: Apportionment, and chaired the Products, General Liability and Consumer Law Committee of the ABA and the Tort Section of the Association of American Law Schools.
