Supreme Court on Fundamental Duties

BR Atre is presently practicing as an advocate in the Supreme Court of India and has been a Member of Law Commission of India, a Legislative Draftsman and Consultant in Parliamentary Affairs and Constitutional matters. In his long career of nearly forty years, he had been responsible for drafting much important legislations inter alia including those related to Dowry Prohibition, Marriage, Environment Protection, Special Economic Zones (SEZ) et al. In the recent past, he was also involved and instrumental in drafting and implementing the Value Added Tax (VAT) legislation on the lines of the model law given by him. He was also the Legislative Draftsman and Consultant to Trinidad and Tobago on behalf of the United Nations Development Programme and a Legal Expert and Drafting Consultant to Namibia and Kenya on behalf of the Commonwealth.
