LexisNexis Matthew Bender is proud to be the Official Publisher of the Judicial Council of California jury instructions.
Use what the judge is using with the LexisNexis® Automated Judicial Council of California Criminal Jury Instructions (CALCRIM). Under California Rules of Court, Rule 2.1050(e) as amended by the Judicial Council, use of the instructions is strongly encouraged. If the latest edition of the jury instructions approved by the Judicial Council contains an instruction applicable to a case and the trial judge determines that the jury should be instructed on the subject, it is recommended that the judge use the Judicial Council instruction unless he or she finds that a different instruction would more accurately state the law and be understood by jurors.
The HotDocs® document assembly program walks you step-by-step through the drafting and assembly process, allowing you to choose the relevant instructions for your case. You can assemble a complete set or individual series of instructions or draft your own instructions using a HotDocs template. You can expand the scope of your jury instruction research by linking to relevant cases, codes, and analytical information. Brought to you by the Official Publisher of the Judicial Council of California Criminal Jury Instructions (CALCRIM), this software allows you to draft and assemble your jury instructions easily and efficiently.
CALCRIM Release 30 includes all approved criminal jury instructions effective since 2006 along with new, revised, and revoked instructions as approved by the Judicial Council of California in March 2022.
